Biography

Sven Tydeman was born on the 16th July 1976 (Cancer) in Canberra, Australia. He moved to California at the age of 3 and then onto London before his return to Sydney, Australia aged 8.

From an early age Sven expressed an interest in music, but it wasn’t until he got his first guitar at age 12 that he knew that music was what he wanted to do. Sven moved to Adelaide for the most part of his teenage years where he was invited to play with a party band the “Mummies Boys”.

He received top marks for his music & performances throughout high school, and furthered his studies at TAFE before returning to Sydney to complete an Advanced Diploma & Bachelor of Music (majoring in performance) at the Australian Institute of Music.

Following the Institute, Sven started a corporate band that played in many of Sydney’s top venues The Opera House, Sydney Super Dome, The Basement, Soup Plus, etc, along with developing a passion for writing, producing and teaching.

Sven wrote, recorded, & produced his first self funded EP “Ode to Kilimanjaro” in 2001. As a result Sven was invited to write music for a short film, “The Great Spaghetti Serenade” which aired throughout Australia & Japan.

Over the years, Sven kept busy developing his production & writing skills. Successes started to follow and Sven soon found himself in demand as both a writer and producer and started his own company Kittygroove in 2004. As a new business owner, Sven produced his 1st album written by artist Sam Nardo, which won the National Youth Week Album competition.

Over the last several years Sven has continued to prosper, winning a number of music industry accolades for his songs & productions. Sven has also composed music for radio & television throughout Australia, Europe, ASIA, Africa, and the Middle East. Numerous artists worldwide have released his material.

Sven has a calm, relaxed, & positive approach to life. He takes all aspects of his music very seriously, and loves spending time with his friends and family.
